I received an email notification that I have a new message, but when I logged in to read it, there were no new messages in my inbox.
Occasionally we may remove messages from your inbox if we believe they have been sent to you buy someone attempting to execute some sort of scam, or are in some other way violating of the terms and conditions of using the site.

Is firstkiss.com.au really free?
Yes! We never charge our members any fees, ever. We make money through advertising and relationships with our affiliate partners only.

Why should I use your site?
Here are some the ways we differ from other free and paid dating sites:

1. We work hard to review EVERY new profile which gets published on the site and remove any content which we believe to be inappropriate, offensive.
2. We use an variety of methods to detect and weed out scammers and spammers. Some will get past us, but with the help of our members we can weed them out too. We are working on more advanced tools to automatically detect and remove scammers before their messages even reach your inbox.
   
3. We have limited our market exclusively to Australia. We actively reject membership applications & logins from outside of Australia.
4. We are developing content which we hope you will find interesting, including including movie reviews, dating tips and more, which are being added on a regular basis.
5. We welcome and actively follow up from member feedback. If you have a suggestion on how we can improve the site for you, please let us know!
   

How do I sign up?
You can sign up by going to our join page. Click here to go there now.
We will ask you for a few bits of information initially, but you can update your profile in detail later.

The signup process involves three steps, which are detailed below.

In the first, we will ask you for the following information: A username A password for you account Your gender The gender of the person you are looking for Your email address (which we will verify by sending you a confirmation email) Your date of birth The range of age of your match The type of realationship you are looking for That you have read and accept our terms and conditions Your postcode

In the second step we ask you for a headline, a few short words about yourself, and ask you to enter the verification code generated for you. When writing your headline, try to choose something that will grab peoples attention. It's the first thing people will see when browsing profiles, so make it stand out!

In the third and final step, we send you a verification email. The email includes a link which you must click on to activate your account. If you don't receive the confirmation email within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folders to see if the email has accidentally been identified as spam. Once you have verified your email, you can login and start using your account right away.

How do I fill in my profile?
The key to a successful profile is to just be honest about who you are and the person you are looking for. There are a number of sections in your profile where you can tell people about the movies, books, sports and other interests you may have. We suggest you fill them all in! You don't have to fill in all the profile sections, but you will get much more interest if you do. People can see that you have taken the time to fill in your profile in detail, and that you are genuinely looking for someone.

What are the multimedia uploads for?
Members can upload short audio and/or video clips of themselves for other users to view and hear. You might like to record a short video, using your webcam, introducing yourself. Or perhaps just a short audio message.

Can I chat to other members online?
We plan to release live chat towards to the end of 2007.

Can I chat with a webcam?
We plan to release live webcam chat simultaneously with live text chat, towards the end of 2007.

Should I upload photos with my profile?
Yes! Profiles with photos not only increase the number of times your profile will be viewed, they also increase the chance of someone sending you a message. People want to know what you look like before they send you a message.

Should I include photos of me with other people?
Only if they're really ugly and make you look good :)

Why has my account been suspended?
We may, from time to time, suspend accounts for various reasons, including:

1. suspected spamming/scamming user,
2. obscene, or inappropriate photos,
3. inappropriate language, or
4. harrassment of other members.

If your account has been suspended but you didn't receive a message from us telling you why, feel free to contact us for an explanation.
